Ewan Eadie, Head of Scientific Services, Photobiology Unit, who provided the mesmerising photo of the krypton chloride excimer lamp above, shared some enlightening Far-UVC research work of the team with us.

The paper 'Far-UVC (222 nm) efficiently inactivates an airborne pathogen in a room-sized chamber. Sci Rep 12, 4373 (2022)' by Eadie, E., Hiwar, W., Fletcher, L. et al. was published in Scientific Reports on 23rd March, 2022.  It is announced as one of the 'Top 100 in 2022| Scientific Reports' on 20th March, 2023 by the Scientific Reports team in the Engineering Community from natureportfolio.

As of 13th April, 2023, the original Scientific Reports paper was referenced in 107 news stories from 83 outlets, and is in the top 5% of all research outputs scored by Altmetric (Altmetric – Far-UVC (222 nm) efficiently inactivates an airborne pathogen in a room-sized chamber).
